Dare to Dream JR – The Disney Musical

What You Need to Know​

We are thrilled to announce that our 2025 school musical will be Disney’s Dare to Dream JR, a magical stage production celebrating some of Disney’s most iconic dreamers and heroes. Students from all year levels are invited to join us on a journey filled with music, courage, friendship, and a whole lot of wonder!

Synopsis​

Disney’s Dare to Dream JR. is a 60-minute musical revue that follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, Dare to Dream JR. features songs appearing for the first time in a Disney stage musical. 

This musical revue is a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages.

Designed specifically for today’s young performers and full of opportunities for ensembles big and small, Dare to Dream JR. turns a century of Disney magic into a theatrical celebration of music, creativity, and the dreams that live inside us all.​​​

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will take place on:

 

• Mondays 3.30-5 pm - Lead roles

• Tuesdays 3.30-5 pm - Whole Cast

• Note: Students will not be required every week but will need to be available to attend these rehearsals.

Public Holiday Rehearsals

​

• Monday 9th March (Labour Day)

• Saturday 25th April ANZAC Day (photo shoot - selected characters only)

• Monday 8th June - King's Birthday

Performance Dates

​

• Monday 15th June 2026 - Full Day Dress Rehearsal

• Tuesday 16th June 2026 - Afterschool Rehearsal 

• Wednesday 17th June 2026 - Full Day Rehearsal - Performance 7 pm

• Thursday 18th June 2026 - Matinee Dare to Dream - 11.45 am and Performance 7.00 pm

Cast List and Rehearsal Information

​

• We are excited to announce the final cast list for our upcoming production, Dare to Dream. The standard of auditions was exceptionally high, and we would like to acknowledge the courage, commitment, and talent shown by every student who auditioned. Unfortunately, not all students were able to be offered a role on this occasion. We recognise that this may be disappointing, and we sincerely thank all students for their enthusiasm and effort.

• Please note that the cast list is now final. We ask families and students to respect this decision, which was made with careful consideration of the needs of the production as a whole.

• The rehearsal schedule will be published shortly and cast members are expected to commit to all scheduled sessions to ensure the success of the production.

• Rehearsals commence in Week 4 with the following members required:

  • Monday 16th February: All players, Imagineer 1 & 2, Jayden, Skye. Working on A Dream is a Wish, pg 10-12.

  • Tuesday 17th February: All cast! Working on Try Everything. 

• We look forward to an exciting and rewarding rehearsal process and thank our school community for their continued support of the performing arts.
