What You Need to Know​

We are thrilled to announce that our 2025 school musical will be Disney’s Dare to Dream JR, a magical stage production celebrating some of Disney’s most iconic dreamers and heroes. Students from all year levels are invited to join us on a journey filled with music, courage, friendship, and a whole lot of wonder!

Synopsis​

Disney’s Dare to Dream JR. is a 60-minute musical revue that follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, Dare to Dream JR. features songs appearing for the first time in a Disney stage musical. 

This musical revue is a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages.

Designed specifically for today’s young performers and full of opportunities for ensembles big and small, Dare to Dream JR. turns a century of Disney magic into a theatrical celebration of music, creativity, and the dreams that live inside us all.

Students will need to register for ONE of the audition sessions if:


​

⭐ Students in Years 5-11 are invited to audition for our 2026 VCC Production of Dare to Dream.
⭐ Auditions will be held across both the Epsom and Strathdale Campuses from 3.30-5pm.

​⭐ Students would like to audition for a featured speaking or singing lead role, or


⭐ Students who are not enrolled in a Year 7-11 Theatre Studies class but would like to participate in the musical as a co-curricular activity.
⭐ Year 5/6 students who wish to participate will also need to audition.

Audition Times

 

• Monday 9th February – 3:30pm–5:00pm
 - EPSOM CAMPUS 

• Tuesday 10th February – 3:30pm–5:00pm
 - STRATHDALE CAMPUS Auditorium

• Wednesday 11th February – 3:30pm–5:00pm - STRATHDALE CAMPUS Auditorium

What to Expect at Auditions​

 

• Students who would like to audition for a singing part need to present one of the following two songs: Try Everything or Go the Distance. The vocal and instrumental tracks are here: (add song files)

• Students who would like to audition for a speaking part need to present this script excerpt: (add script excerpt file)

• Wear comfortable clothing suitable for acting, dancing, movement and singing.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will take place on:

 

• Mondays 3.30-5 pm - Lead roles

• Tuesdays 3.30-5 pm - Whole Cast

• Note: Students will not be required every week but will need to be available to attend these rehearsals.

Public Holiday Rehearsals

• Monday 9th March (Labour Day)

• Saturday 25th April ANZAC Day (photo shoot - selected characters only)

• Monday 8th June - King's Birthday

Performance Dates

​

• Monday 15th June 2026 - Full Day Dress Rehearsal

• Tuesday 16th June 2026 - Afterschool Rehearsal 

• Wednesday 17th June 2026 - Full Day Rehearsal - Performance 7 pm

• Thursday 18th June 2026 - Matinee Dare to Dream - 11.45 am and Performance 7.00 pm​
